Japanese engineers supporting with completion of Chinese cruiser Ping Hai according to the Dutch magazine Marineblad 1934 no. 7

An item referred to the magazine Marine Rundschau dated November 1934 reporting that the already for a long time delayed building of the Chinese cruiser Ping Hai at Shanghai, China was to be continued under supervision of a board member and some engineers of the Harima shipyard at Kobe, Japan. She was to be completed within 2 years with as building costs 8 million US dollars. At Kobe was her sister ship Ning Hai under construction.(1)

Laid down by Kiangnan Dock and Engineering Works, Shanghai, China on 28 June 1931, launched on 28 September 1935, completed on 18 June 1936, sunk by Japanese aircraft on 23 September 1937, salvaged and decommissioned as the Yasoshima in the Japanese navy on 25 September 1944 and sunk by USA aircraft on 25 November 1944.
