Portugal asked for tenders for building submarine mother ship according to the magazine Mitteilungen aus dem Gebiete des Seewesens dated 1913 No. 3

An item reported that the Portuguese navy department opened on 15 January the registration for tenders for the building of a submarine mother ship with a displacement of 800 tons, a machinery consisting of petrol fuelled Yarrow boilers and piston engines, 2 screws and an armament of 1-10cm/3.9” L/40 gun. On 15 January was the registration for tenders opened and it were British and American companies who were interested.
